MYCIN is an expert system which was developed at Stanford University and was the first program to address the problems of reasoning with suitable information. MYCIN provided clear and logical explanation of the reasoning used a controlled structure appropriate to the specific problem domain and identified criteria to reliably evaluate its performance. MYCIN uses rule based production architecture.
